Works in progress

  • Peakon–antipeakon solutions of the Novikov equation.
    Marcus Kardell and Hans Lundmark.
A preliminary utgåva was included as Paper II in Marcus's PhD thesis, defended Feb (pdf file including Papers inom and II, record in the primadonna database). Our conjecture in Remark that the eigenvalues must lie in the open right half plane turned out to be false, so the results in this preliminary utgåva are incomplete since they don't cover the case when there are eigenvalues on the imaginary axis. Other duties have made it difficult to find time for working on the sista version, but we're still hoping to finish this paper some day…
  • Projective dynamics and cofactor systems.
    Alain Albouy and Hans Lundmark.
Still in the early stages of writing.

    About me

I'm a Senior Lecturer (universitetslektor & docent) at the Department of Mathematics (MAI), Linköping University, Sweden.

    Research

I work in an area of mathematics called integrable systems; here's a brief summary of my research. Very roughly speaking, an integrable system is a system of differential equations that can be solved exactly with analytical methods.

    Research highlights

Here's a selection of a few interesting things that I've come across in my research. Follow the links for explanations, movies of peakons, etc.

    Teaching

I enjoy teaching, and I have plenty of teaching experience from many of the subjects offered by our department at the undergraduate level (calculus in one or several variables, linear algebra, vector calculus, complex analysis, transform theory, differential equations, discrete mathematics, mathematical biology, applied mathematics, etc.).
