The Gentlemen Put Us Here: About the Forced Relocations in Sweden (Swedish: Herrarna satte oss hit. Om tvångsförflyttningarna i Sverige) is the first published book by Swedish journalist Elin Anna Labba. It won the August Prize for Non-Fiction.[1][2] The full English translation of Elin's work is titled The Rocks Will Echo Our Sorrow: The Forced Displacement of the Northern Sámi.

The book describes the forced displacement of Sami people that began between and after Sweden and Norway signed the Reindeer Pasture Sharing Agreement (Swedish: Renbeteskonventionen från ). Labba's work on the subject stems from her desire to better understand her own family history.[3]

Elin Anna Labba har skrivit i Samefolket, varit chefredaktör för Nuorat och arbetat på organisationen Laponiatjuottjudus, såsom förvaltar världsarvet Laponia.[10] denna har varit ledare förTjállegoahte – Författarcentrum Sápmi inom Jokkmokk.[11]
Hon debuterade som författare med Herrarna satte oss hit: angående tvångsförflyttningarna inom Sverige, ett skildring från tvångsförflyttningen från samer liksom påbörjades – efter för att Sverige samt Norge undertecknat en renbeteskonvention Boken äger sitt ursprung i hennes önskan för att förstå sin egen familjehistoria.[12] Boken dramatiserades och sattes upp vid Uppsala stadsteater i regi av Malin Stenberg samt med script av Stina Oscarson.[13][14]
Hon romandebuterade med Far inte mot havet, enstaka berättelse ifall tre kvinnor under talets vattenkraftsepok inom Sápmi. denna har blivit utsedd mot filosofie hedersdoktor vid Luleå tekniska högskola.
