Katarina Bjelke blir ny universitetsdirektör vid Karolinska Institutet. denna kommer närmast från tjänsten som universitetsdirektör vid Uppsala universitet samt tillträder sin nya service i femte månaden i året
– oss är många glada för att Katarina önskar komma åter till Karolinska Institutet var hon enstaka gång började sin yrkesliv. Hon besitter bred upplevelse från både högskolesektorn samt utbildningsdepartementet. denna har dessutom lång kunskap som arbetsledare vilket fullfölja henne väl lämpad för att leda universitetsförvaltningen och förbättra stödet mot kärnverksamheten, forskningen och utbildningen, säger Karolinska Institutets skolchef Ole Petter Ottersen.
Katarina Bjelke var tidigare departementsråd samt chef nära forskningspolitiska enheten vid utbildningsdepartementet. Hon besitter ett förflutet vid Karolinska Institutet såsom chef till forsknings- samt forskarutbildningsavdelningen, på grund av den internationella enheten samt för Grants Office. denna har ett tandläkarexamen ifrån och disputerade i neuroanatomi vid Karolinska Institutet.
– Jag ser fram emot mitt nya uppgift och för att komma mot Karolinska Institutet, säger Katarina Bjelke.

“It’s very enjoyable to be back. I know that KI is an exciting workplace, with exciting and pioneering research and education and highly skilled employees.”
Katarina Bjelke says that she will devote the beginning of her time to familiarising herself with the activities. She plans on spending a lot of time on KI’s campus, meeting all of the department heads and administrative managers, as well as making rounds to the divisions of the administration, for which she will also be the senior executive.
“Of course, I will focus on operational support – getting it into good shape and adapting it to the activities is very important. Other important priorities are the new management organisation and of course Strategy – making it clearly rooted and prioritised in the activities.”

Katarina Bjelke is Karolinska Institutet’s new university director from May She is currently the university director at Uppsala University.
“We’re delighted that Katarina wants to return to Karolinska Institutet, where she once began her career,” says Karolinska Institutet’s president Ole Petter Ottersen. “She has great experience from the academic sector and the Ministry of Education and Research. She also has many years’ experience of management, which makes her well-suited to lead the University Administration and develop the support it provides to our core activities research and education.”
Katarina Bjelke was formally the deputy director-general of the research policy unit at the Ministry of Education and Research. Before that she was head of the Division of Research and Doctoral Education, the International Unit and the Grants Office at Karolinska Institutet. She took her degree in dentistry in and earned her PhD in neuroanatomy from Karolinska Institutet in
